My English may not be perfect, but I am focused in spreading the gospel – Dorcas Moyo hits back at critics

Prominent gospel musician Dorcas Moyo has responded to critics who say her command for the Queenโ€™s language is poor.

Without naming the critics, Moyo said: โ€œThey say my English isnโ€™t perfect, but Iโ€™m focused on spreading the word of Jesus Christ.

โ€œMy songs might be loud, but theyโ€™re filled with His message. Iโ€™m doing the Lordโ€™s work, and thatโ€™s what matters most to me.โ€

Meanwhile some of her followers on X urged her to press on:

โ€œMy dearest sister, itโ€™s not for English that you are famous. English is just a language spoken somewhere overseas by some people who imposed it on us.

โ€œYou are known for singing gospel music in our vernaculars surpassing those who sing in English. We love you for that. Press on.โ€
