A Kadoma community-based organization, Ray of Light, has fulfilled a donation pledge towards a children’s home.

Ray of Light, a youth community-based organization based in Rimuka, Kadoma which runs youths and persons with disabilities programmes in drugs and substance abuse awareness programmes, career guidance and counseling services and welfare of persons with disabilities, had pledged to donate a full First Aid kit and repair broken window panes during a programme at Tariro Children’s Home which was attended by MashWest Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Marian Chombo recently.

Ray of Light director, Admire Munyebvu, said that his organization had been touched by the plight of the children at the institution and had been compelled to offer some assistance as a community-based organization.

“When we visited the children’s home before the honourable minister arrived, I was touched by the plight of children and we made a pledge to donate a full First Aid kit and undertake repairs for window panes,” Munyebvu said.

“We are a community-based organization and these children are part of our community, so they are just like our kids in our houses they also need our care.

“Tariro Children’s Home is on the outskirts of Rimuka and as it’s now summer, snakes are now a threat to humans. So windows must be properly secured.

“Last week we fulfilled another pledge for a full First Aid kit and we have since handed it over to the home and we are also going to do plumbing works at the institution,” said thr Ray of Light director.

Tariro Children’s Home director Pheobe Magama hailed the donation from Ray of Light.

“I’m lost of words and as an institution we welcome this good gesture from Ray of Light,” said Magama.

Tariro Children’s Home has 21 children in various ages.

Ray of Light started in 2022 with the objectives of transforming lives of the youths and has links with other institutions which offer youths programmes and it’s aim is to be registered as private voluntary organization.
