Daisy Mtukudzi’s New Toyota  Involved in Collision with Haulage Truck Just Days After Receiving  It From Chivayo

Daisy Mtukudzi, widow of the legendary Oliver Mtukudzi, was involved in a car accident earlier today after her Toyota Fortuner, a gift from controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo, collided with a haulage truck. The collision left significant damage to the driver’s side of the luxury vehicle, with visible dents and crumpled sections, though details of the exact cause of the crash remain unclear at this time.
The white Toyota, which was handed to Daisy last week in a widely publicized event, had drawn attention following revelations of alleged family disputes. The car, a symbol of Chivayo’s generosity, sparked controversy given ongoing claims from Oliver Mtukudzi’s other children, who accuse Daisy of depriving them of their rightful inheritance, including ownership of the iconic Pakare Paye Arts Centre. The dispute over the arts center, a hub for nurturing musical talent, has simmered for years, with Daisy asserting sole ownership, despite allegations that the center’s creation involved a wider family effort.
In the aftermath of these family tensions, a group of Zimbabweans, together with Zambian collaborators, have begun working to construct a new Pakare Paye Centre as a symbol of solidarity and a fresh start for the artistic community that once thrived under Oliver Mtukudzi’s vision.
While no injuries were immediately reported, the accident has caused a stir on social media, with some questioning whether this incident could be seen as symbolic of the continued tensions within the Mtukudzi family.
