Moses ‘Bambo’ Chunga Honoured by Belgian Club Eendracht Aalst…Again
Zimbabwean football legend, Moses ‘Bambo’ Chunga, recently returned to Belgium where he was invited by his former club Eendracht Aalst Lede.
Chunga, who played for Eendracht Aalst Lede from 1988 to 1992, is highly rated and considered a club legend.
His contributions to the team during his playing days have solidified his legendary status, resulting in the club inviting him recently to reportedly assist in rekindling its former glory.
Chunga attended the club’s match against Erpe-Mere United over the weekend.
He was a special guest as Eendracht Aalst Lede won 2-0.
The club acknowledged Chunga’s presence, highlighting the significance of the victory in his honor.
“Under the watchful eye of Moses Chunga, we win the champion against Erpe-Mere United 0-2,” the club posted on social media.
“We jump to second place in the ranking and are approaching two points of leader Wetteren.”
By inviting Chunga, Lede are said to be aiming to rekindle the spirit of the past and inspire a new generation of players.
The ex-Zimbabwe Warriors skipper is also seen in a short video posted by the club on social media saying he is in Belgium to “support the project getting back to where we belong”
“Hello guys I’m saddened by what happened to our team, I’m energised and happy to be here (Belgium).”
He implored fans to attend weekend’s game in their numbers and believe in their team once again.
“I’m hoping to see you tomorrow (Sunday) at the game. Let’s believe again.”
