Chitungwiza Road To Close For Sewer Works On 17-18 January

Chitungwiza Municipality has announced that Chitungwiza Road will be closed on 17 and 18 January 2026 to allow the installation of new 600mm and 800mm Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipes as part of the Zengeza Sewer Trunk Rehabilitation Project.

In a public notice issued on 9 January 2026, Acting Town Clerk Japson Nemuseso said the works will take place at the section of Chitungwiza Road where the sewer line crosses, between Madzibaba Simba’s Shrine and the Unit J turn-off near the Zengeza Sewer Treatment Plant gate.

Nemuseso urged residents and motorists to cooperate with the contractor to ensure the works are completed smoothly and on time.

He also advised motorists to use alternative routes during the closure period. He added:

“Council sincerely regrets any inconvenience that may be caused and appreciates the public’s understanding and support as we continue to improve public health and sanitation services in Chitungwiza.” Pindula
