Lusaka–Johannesburg Bus Gutted by Fire Near Zimbabwe Border
A passenger bus travelling from Lusaka, Zambia, to Johannesburg, South Africa, was completely destroyed by fire near the Zimbabwean border at approximately 5:30am on Sunday.
According to reports, the driver was alerted by a passing motorist who noticed smoke and flames emanating from the rear of the vehicle.
The fire is believed to have originated in the engine compartment before spreading rapidly throughout the bus, despite efforts to extinguish it.
All 18 passengers and crew members escaped unharmed.
Their luggage was safely removed before the vehicle was engulfed in flames.
