ISO Workshop Supports Government’s Drive Towards World-Class Standards

The Parliament of Zimbabwe has convened an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) workshop aimed at enhancing service delivery and strengthening institutional efficiency.

Held in Kadoma at Rainbow Towers Hotel, the workshop brought together parliamentary staff, management and quality assurance experts focused on implementing ISO standards to improve operational systems, accountability and public service performance within Parliament.

Speaking during the session, speaker of the National Assembly Advocate Jacob Mudenda said the training was part of ongoing efforts to modernize Parliament’s operations and ensure the institution delivers quality services to citizens in line with international best practices.

Advocate Mudenda also said the Quality Management Systems should go beyond policy and become part of Parliament’s tradition in executing it’s constitutional mandate.

” Quality management must be exercised in all our systems and operations if Parliament is to continue serving the people of Zimbabwe with excellence and professionalism ” he said.

Participants were taken through key aspects of ISO standards including quality management systems, customer satisfaction, continuousu improvement and effective administration procedures.

Parliament officials noted that adopting internationally recognised standards would help improve transparency, efficiency and responsiveness in the institution’s day-to-day operations.

Welcome remarks were delivered by Josphat Jaji on behalf of the Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Marian Chombo who applauded the Parliament of Zimbabwe for prioritizing quality assurance and institutional development

In his remarks he emphasized the importance of team work, professionalism and adherence to established procedures in achieving excellence in public service delivery.

The initiative forms part of broader reforms being taken by Parliament to strengthen governance systems and enhance public confidence in institutions.
