NetOne commits to Presidential Clean-Up Campaign

Telecommunications utility, NetOne is maintaining a model of rallying all its branches across the country to partake in the habitat cleanliness maintenance, the monthly Presidential National Clean-Up Campaign Day held every first Friday of the month.
The general clean up was instigated soon after President ED Mnangagwa assumed office in 2018. The model was borrowed from Rwanda where it has worked well making the east African country a duel of smartness on the continent. Rwanda’s Clean-Up Campaign model, internationally celebrated for making Kigali one of Africa’s cleanest cities, is anchored by Umuganda, a mandatory, nationwide community cleanup day. Held on the last Saturday of every month, it unites citizens from all walks of life, including government officials, to clean streets, clear drains, and build public infrastructure.
With the model having taken root in the southern African nation, NetOne has put shoulders to the wheel without flinching.
On every occasion, the information communication technology parastatal has made it an in-house policy to activate campaigns in various cities across the country on the same day. Its staff are allowed to leave the comfort and demands of the office to ensure that they put hands on the brooms for the campaign.
Today this initiative is deployed to several cities. In the capital, the central business district (CBD), Livingstone and Warren Park will be catered for by NetOne staff in the line of Presidential National Clean-Up Campaign Day. Chitungwiza will have a fair share of such input by the country’s most popular ICT probider. Other major cities where NetOne has a footprint include the country’s second capital, Bulawayo, city of progress Gweru, eastern highlands gateway Mutare, and Mash West provincial capita Chinhoyi.
The corporate is most popular among the most active technological demography, youths and young adults aged 18 to 35 years of age. This popularity is due to the promotions that it rolls out to the market which make it easy for the market to access ICT products with comfort and convenience. Currently , NetOne has a number of promotions running at any stage in the year.
Some of the promotions currently running under the digital solutions network include the Value Bundle Promotion and the Big Beautiful Bundle Promo which are exceedingly popular nationwide.
Launched on December 5, 2018, by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe’s Presidential National Clean-Up Campaign designates the first Friday of every month as a national clean-up day. The initiative mandates citizens, government institutions, and private businesses to clean their surroundings to foster environmental sustainability and public health.
