𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐫𝐨 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐳𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐚 𝐄𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐞

HARARE – A 21-year-old woman has reported to police that she was repeatedly raped over more than a year by a Budiriro shrine leader who goes by the name Madzibaba Enock, whose real name is Hebert Senda.

Senda leads the Johane Masowe Yechishanu, Nyenyedzi Nomwe Sect, based in Budiriro 4, Harare. According to the woman’s account to police, she first went to the shrine seeking spiritual healing and was later instructed to stay there to continue receiving prayers.

She alleges that in July 2025, a female member of the church woke her during the night and led her to a vehicle where Senda was seated alone. She says she was given a drink that left her feeling dizzy, after which she was driven to a lodge in Harare’s central business district.

The woman alleges that the female church member booked a room and brought her there, then left once Senda arrived. She says she was raped multiple times that night and warned that she would be killed if she told anyone.

She alleges the abuse did not stop there, and that Senda continued to assault her on further occasions afterward, taking advantage of opportunities at the shrine.

The woman says she eventually managed to retrieve her phone and contacted her sister, who helped her report the matter to police.

The case has been logged at Budiriro Police Station under reference number RRB 6872764. National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.

No charges have yet been confirmed and the allegations have not been tested in court. The Granite Post will update this story as the police investigation and any resulting court process develop.
