Zimbabwean Business Mogul Senator Dr. Kudakwashe R. Tagwirei to be Honored with African Energy & Business Leadership Impact Award 2026

The Davdan Peace and Advocacy Foundation has formally announced the selection of Zimbabwean business leader and Senator Dr. Kudakwashe R. Tagwirei as the recipient of the prestigious African Energy & Business Leadership Impact Award 2026.
The conferment will take place during the 16th Peace Achievers International Awards, scheduled for November 7, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
The ceremony will be held under the theme: “Honoring Impact, Inspiring Peace, Transforming Lives.”
Senator Dr. Tagwirei was among the ten Senators recently appointed by His Excellency President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa who is making frantic efforts in economic integration of Zimbabwe through industrialisation.
According to the official letter of conferment signed by Amb. Dr. Kingsley Amafibe, Project Director for Africa, the award recognizes Senator Dr. Tagwirei’s “exceptional entrepreneurial leadership” and his significant contributions to Zimbabwe’s energy and business sectors.
The Committee noted that his initiatives through Sakunda Holdings have played a pivotal role in advancing productive capacity and fostering economic development within the region.
“Leadership is measured not merely by the position one holds, but by the opportunities one creates, the challenges one confronts, and the lives and institutions positively influenced along the way,” the Foundation stated.
The selection committee emphasized that the award is not merely a recognition of Sen. Tagwirei’s commercial success, but a tribute to the “footprints” his leadership has left on the wider African business environment. The organizers highlighted his role as a prominent figure in the Zimbabwean economic landscape, contributing to vital conversations regarding investment and enterprise.
The Peace Achievers International Awards serves as a global platform dedicated to celebrating individuals whose achievements transcend personal success to create lasting societal value.
Senator Dr. Tagwirei is expected to join other distinguished honorees in Abuja to accept the recognition, which organizers describe as a celebration of excellence, impact, and service.
