12-Year-Old Prosper Rutope Wins Grand Prize at ZRP Mashonaland West Raffle Draw

Kadoma—In a remarkable stroke of luck and celebration, 12-year-old Prosper Rutope (third from left) stole the spotlight after winning the grand prize—a Honda Auria at the ZRP Mashonaland West Raffle Draw held on 6 December 2025 at Rimuka Stadium.
The colourful event, which drew hundreds of excited community members, was graced by senior police officials and key stakeholders dedicated to strengthening relations between law enforcement and the public.
Officer Commanding Police Mashonaland West Province Commissioner Taonei Nyazema, was represented by Assistant Commissioner Mnengerwa, who applauded the community for continuously supporting ZRP initiatives that promote safety and cooperation. Superintendent Mavhudzi, standing in for the Officer Commanding Police Kadoma District, Chief Superintendent M. Mwezi, also emphasized the importance of community engagement in building trust and collaboration.
The raffle draw was supervised by the Chairperson of the Crime Liaison Committee (Mashonaland West Province), Mr. Richard Chafausipo, who commended the public for participating in efforts that help combat crime through collective involvement.

But the most electrifying moment came when the grand prize—a Honda Auria was announced.Cheers erupted across Rimuka Stadium as 12-year-old Prosper Rutope emerged as the youngest and most celebrated winner of the day.
Prosper’s father, Moses Rutope, a police officer stationed at Rimuka Police Station, could not hide his joy and gratitude. Speaking moments after the announcement, he said,“I was confident that these young ones are pure in front of Jesus, hence the blessing of a car.”
He described the win as a sign of divine favour and a moment his family will cherish forever.
The ZRP Mashonaland West Province encouraged communities to continue embracing future initiatives, reaffirming their commitment to fostering peace, unity, and crime-free neighbourhoods across the province.
