Prominent gospel artist Mambo Dhuterere wanted over series of armed robbery cases

Popular gospel musician Mambo Dhuterere has been named by the Zimbabwe Republic Police among four suspects wanted in connection with a series of armed robbery cases reported in Harare, Ruwa and Rusape.
Police say Dhuterere, whose real name is Darlington Mutseta, is wanted alongside Khule Diva, Kasongo and Senior Gama, while three other suspects — Tinei Makaripe (47), Pungurayi Mukumbachaza and Gabriel Mukambachaza (41) — have already been arrested.
According to police, the latest robbery occurred at a company in Borders Estate, Ruwa, at around 12.30am on September 13, 2026.
The suspects and their accomplices allegedly attacked and restrained company workers before making off with US$108,000 in cash.
Makaripe was reportedly apprehended by workers after he fell while attempting to scale the company’s perimeter wall. He was subsequently handed over to the police.
Further investigations led detectives to Damofalls Phase 1, where Mukumbachaza was arrested. Police recovered US$4,900, which had allegedly been hidden in his vehicle.
Mukambachaza was later arrested at his rural home in Rusape, where detectives reportedly recovered US$5,000, two pistols, ammunition, handcuffs, fuse cables, explosives and three balaclavas.
Police said one of the recovered firearms, a Tokarev pistol, had allegedly been stolen during an armed robbery at a steel company along Tilbury Road, Southerton, Harare, on March 12, 2026.
The suspects are also being linked to other armed robbery cases.
These include a January 26 robbery at a beverages company in Rusape, where US$39,828, a Star pistol loaded with five rounds, pepper spray, handcuffs and three cellphones were allegedly stolen.
Another case occurred on March 12 at a steel company in Southerton, where US$14,118 was allegedly stolen.
Police say Mambo Dhuterere, Khule Diva, Kasongo and Senior Gama remain at large as investigations continue.
The naming of Dhuterere in the police statement does not, by itself, establish that he committed the alleged offences. Police are appealing for information that may assist in locating the wanted suspects.
