Man kills ex-wife after finding her with boyfriend

A 44-YEAR-OLD Marondera man was arrested for allegedly beating his ex-wife to death.

Lovemore Chishiri, 44, found his ex-wife, Spiwe Chishiri, 41, with a boyfriend and assaulted her until she died.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed Lovemore’s arrest.

“ZRP Marondera arrested Lovemore Chishiri in connection with a murder case where he allegedly assaulted his ex-wife, Spiwe Chishiri to death after finding her with a boyfriend at Lower Paradise,” he said.

He urged members of the public to resolve their misunderstandings amicably.

“The number of people killing each other over small misunderstandings is getting out of hand and we urge citizens to solve their problems amicably,” he said.

Ass Comm Nyathi added that police in St Alberts arrested Rangarirai Mafigu, 28, for murder. He is alleged to have struck his brother, Chriswell Mafigu, 26, with a hoe on the head.

“The suspect struck his brother once on the head with a hoe after a misunderstanding over the sharing of money they had worked for at a farm in Chiweshe. The victim sustained a deep cut on the head and died on the spot,” said Ass Comm Nyathi.

Meanwhile, the ZRP is investigating a murder case where five unknown suspects, armed with machetes, knives and logs, attacked a man only known as Tinashe at a squatter camp near China Zim Gold Mill in Zvishavane.-H Metro
