South African rapper Nadia Nakai recently opened up on how she missed out on an opportunity to collaborate with multi-award-winning Zimdancehall chanter Winky D.

Speaking during an interview on The Episode, Nadia Nakai revealed that Winky D once reached out to her for a collaboration. She said that they did not manage to go through with the collaboration because when he reached out to her she was in a bad place.

The Bragga queen said that she regrets missing out on an opportunity to collaborate with Winky D as she would have loved to work with him on a song.

Nadia Nakai went on to reveal that she is a big fan of Nutty O, Takura, Jah Prayzer and Gemma Griffiths. She revealed that she has featured Gemma Griffiths on her new album which going to be released sometime this year.

Nadia Nakai also decided to open up about the BET nominee debacle. Last year, Nadia Nakai courted ire on social media after she was nominated at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2022 under the Zimbabwe category.

Nadia Nakai was nominated for the best international flow category, and Zimbabweans were not impressed that she was selected to represent the country when she once denied being a national.

The rapper said that she was supposed to be nominated under South Africa, but the BET committee made a mistake and put her under Zimbabwe.

She said she can’t represent Zimbabwe when there is Kikky Badass. Nadia Nakai raved about Kikky Badass being a lyrical genius and for holding it down as a Zimbabwean female rapper.

She said that Kikky Badass is the best person to represent Zimbabwe and has the potential to bag a BET award.
