SAPolice in intensive manhunt for Zimbabwean man over spate of violent crimes
The South African Police Service (SAPS) in the Sekhukhune District has launched an intensive manhunt for Lovemore Musoyi, a 35-year-old Zimbabwean national, who is the prime suspect in over ten severe and violent crime cases. Musoyi, notorious for his ability to evade capture, is alleged to have committed a series of armed robberies and assaults, spreading fear and unrest within the community.
The decision to initiate this extensive search comes after a recent surge in violent incidents attributed to Musoyi, whose elusive nature has complicated efforts to bring him to justice. Law enforcement officials have described Musoyi as dangerous and have urged the public to remain vigilant.
SAPS spokesperson Captain Malesela Ledwaba highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating, “Musoyi’s criminal activities have significantly impacted the sense of safety and security in Sekhukhune. We are employing all available resources to apprehend him and restore peace to the community.”
Residents have expressed growing concerns over their safety, with many calling for increased police presence and swift action to capture the suspect. Community leader Sarah Mokwena voiced the collective anxiety, saying, “We are living in fear. Every day, we worry about our safety and the safety of our children. We need the police to catch this man quickly.”
