Mutsvangwa jailed 5 years

A 39-year-old man named Nelson Mutsvangwa from  Harare has been handed a sentence of 5 years and 3 months in prison by a Harare Magistrate.

This comes after he was found guilty on 9 counts of unlawful entry under aggravating circumstances.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has verified the case, revealing that Mutsvangwa targeted various office premises within Harare’s Central Business District.

His modus operandi involved breaking into these offices and stealing computers along with other accessories.

One of the incidents took place on May 20, 2024, where Mutsvangwa was apprehended in the act by the complainant.

According to court records, the accused gained unauthorized entry into the office by using duplicated keys. On this particular occasion, he was caught in possession of 3 Lenovo laptops as he attempted to leave the premises.

However, the office occupant was able to detain him. Following this, a police report was filed which ultimately led to Mutsvangwa’s arrest.

Notably, there is speculation regarding whether Nelson Mutsvangwa is related to ZANU PF spokesman Christopher Mutsvangwa, but this association remains unconfirmed.
