Gwekwerere confirms beating his wife Natasha after row over lover

EVANS Gwekwerere has confirmed that he had a nasty fallout with his wife Natasha Kaira Green, leading to an altercation, and their marriage is OVER.

The former Dynamos star exclusively told H-Metro that he beat up Natasha after he discovered text messages in her phone which showed that she was having an extra-marital relationship with another man.

He said the incident happened on March 15. “Yes, I had a fallout with my wife because she was having an affair with a boyfriend while she was married to me.

“So, there was a bit of trouble at home and she left our house after the altercation. It’s something that happened on March 15, it’s not a recent incident as some are incorrectly suggesting.

“I was angry with her and that is why I reacted the way I did but it wouldn’t have happened if she had not cheated.

“In my anger, I also left our home to try and cool down and when I came back I found out that she had taken all our household property and taken it somewhere, I don’t know where.

“She also took our children and they ae being kept by their mother. She reported me to the police but she is the one who started all this with her actions.”

Gwekwerere said his ex-wife is already going to various night clubs where she is having fun.

The spectacular breakdown in the marriage comes less than just two years after Gwekwerere paid lobola for Natasha in July 2024.

The payment of the lobola came at a time when Gwekwerere was liquid, when it comes to cash, as he had just received a US$17,000 windfall from Dynamos.

Gwekwerere claimed his former employers owed him US$27,000 after different stints at the club.

With the help of the Footballers union of Zimbabwe, he approached CAF, who were ready to block the Glamour Boys from taking part in the Confederation Cup.

This forced DeMbare to pay him US$17,000 of the US$27,000 they owed him. The couple immediately went for a honeymoon in South Africa.

The couple had their honeymoon in Gauteng, including checking into an apartment at the Blyde Riverwalk Estate.

The Estate is owned by Balwin, one of South Africa’s largest property companies, and it is a giant exclusive residential development in Pretoria.

It has been described as a “water-lover’s paradise, a one-of-a-kind lifestyle estate with a crystal-clear sustainable lagoon for water sports.”

“Me and my lovely hubby,” read a caption on one of the photos posted by Natasha on her social media pages.

Sources told H-Metro back then:

“Evans is making full use of the jackpot he received from his former employers and he has already paid lobola for his wife and the couple flew out to South Africa for their honeymoon.

“Even though the couple have been together for some time, there were still some formalities which needed to be completed and the payment of lobola was one of them. It was creating some issues between the two because of family pressures and even though the two are madly in love it forced Natasha to move back with her parents at some stage.

“But, that has now been settled after the payment of the lobola and they decided they needed some space, just the two of them, and they chose South Africa.

“Evans has worked in South Africa before, when he was a footballer and he has many friends in that country and the destination was an easy choice.”

Meanwhile, Natasha was ordered by the High Court to pay US$1 million in damages for snatching the former Dynamos forward from his first wife.

Gwekwerere’s ex-wife, Makanyara Mafunga, made the claims at the High Court where she accused Natasha of having an adulterous affair with the former Warriors striker.

In her papers, Makanyara stated that she married Gwekwerere under the Marriages Act (Chapter 5:11) on November 1, 2020, and the marriage still subsists. – _*HMetro*_
