MHONDORO MBAIRA – Mhondoro Mbaira Constituency Member of Parliament, Honourable Cham Chiwanza, has donated 130 bicycles to members of the Mapostori community in an empowerment drive aimed at easing mobility and boosting economic activity across the constituency.
The handover was held on 13 June at Mhondoro Central Hall during a Mapostori 4ED leadership gathering led by Madzibaba Moze, with hundreds of Mapostori drawn from 13 wards in attendance. The event turned into a show of unity between the constituency’s leadership and the apostolic community, which plays a significant role in the area’s social and cultural life. O
Hon Chiwanza arrived at the empowerment program by helicopter, drawing excitement from the large crowd. Chiwanza was welcomed by Madzibababa Moses. Addressing the gathering, the MP said the bicycles were intended to support Mapostori engaged in farming, vending, and church work, and that his office would continue to respond to the constituency’s pressing needs.
Top of his pledges was the reconstruction of roads damaged by last year’s heavy rains, which have left several rural routes impassable. “We will fulfil the needs of Mhondoro Mbaira, and fixing these dilapidated roads is a priority so our people can move and trade without barriers,” Hon Chiwanza said.
Madzibaba Moses, speaking on behalf of the Mapostori leadership, thanked the MP for the gesture and pledged the community’s support for the President’s Vision 2030 development agenda. He also pronounced clear backing for CAB3, aligning the Mapostori 4ED leadership with the ruling party’s consolidation drive ahead of the next elections.
The bicycle donation and the MP’s road pledge were welcomed by beneficiaries from across the 13 wards, who said improved mobility would help them access markets, clinics, and church gatherings more easily.
