Prophet Eubert Angel breaks silence — Leave VP Chiwenga alone

_… Preacher slams “vitriolic attacks” on Chiwenga as evil and intellectually bankrupt…_

Prophet Uebert Angel finally broke his silence on the escalating attacks on Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, delivering a blunt, no-holds-barred sermon that lit up Zimbabwean social media within hours.

Preaching from the packed Harare Hippodrome on Sunday, 1 November 2026 — in his signature white suit before thousands at The GoodNews World church — the preacher and presidential envoy told his congregation the campaign against the VP was out of control.

“The vitriolic attacks against Vice President Constantino Chiwenga is a disgraceful exhibition of political impropriety. And a display of intellectual bankruptcy.”

The live-streamed service, branded TRUTH N’ LOVE – THE CHURCH and pushed on the EonChat app, quickly spread online under the caption “Prophet Uebert Angel Breaks Silence on VP Chiwenga Attacks”.

Angel did not mince words:

On criticism vs contempt: “Criticism is allowed but ‘contempt dressed as criticism is evil,'” he said, adding that contempt masquerading as criticism is “diabolic, it’s evil”. In another clip he called it a “diabolical exhibition”.

On power and hatred: “Attacking a leader because you hate him never gives you power,” he warned the congregation, urging them not to waste “bundles” listening to “nonsense.”

On respect for office: “If the President keeps him as VP others should humble themselves and let him work,” the PUNCHSTAR BREAKING NEWS graphic summarized his message. “We are building a country, the leader is already there,” he told worshippers.

Using marriage analogies — hypothetically divorcing his wife — and scripture “only a fool decides a matter after hearing one side”, Angel argued Zimbabwe is teaching children a dangerous culture where elders can be attacked.

He was adamant he has no political faction: “I do not align with political factions but am on one faction, the Lord Jesus Christ,” he declared, while clarifying that his reference to ‘opposition’ meant anyone opposing the VP, not just a political party.

The sermon comes amid intense Zanu PF succession talk between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and VP Chiwenga factions, with social media awash with prophecy rumors and conference clashes.

Reactions were instantly polarized. Supporters hailed it as courageous — “Well said Prophet. Thank you for standing with our VP” — while critics accused him of flip-flopping and opportunism, noting his past prophecies about Chiwenga.

As of Sunday night, the message was still trending: HUSH — Let the VP work. *_-Various_*
